Renewable Energy Concept
What's better than limited energy?
Unlimited energy - Self-replenishing and only relies on Earth’s natural patterns compared to fossil fuels which creates greenhouse gases that are harmful for the Earth’s atmosphere. In addition, fossil fuels are predicted to run out by 2090 if we keep using them at the current rate of 2023.

Solar Power (1839)
Solar technology uses light radiation from the sun to convert to electricity through a reaction from the silicon layers within the panel. In this reaction, light is absorbed, and electrons are released thus leading to electricity!

Wind & Hydro Power
Wind technology harnesses wind by using turbines that can be found in wind farms (basically just a field of wind turbines.) where wind moves the turbines blades creating
kinetic energy that is converted to electricity.
Similar to wind energy, hydropower technology also uses the movement of kinetic energy to create electricity. Water flows through a turbine which makes it spin to power a generator. The height and amount of water flow affects the power outcome
Wind turbines on the water in the ocean are more
efficient than land wind turbines but harder to build, the bigger the blades of the turbine, the more power it can obtain.

Bioenergy & Geothermal
- Bioenergy is organic matter like plants, wood, etc.
- There are 2 types:
- Dry biomass, wood and waste are burned in boilers or furnaces to create biogas that can be used.
- Wet biomass is food waste that rots in sealed tanks that are specifically designed to hold methane gas and steam that will flow through a turbine to create electricity like wind and hydro energy.
- Geothermal energy technology harnesses the heat by drilling huge and deep underground wells into hot underground aquifers that also drives turbines.

Cost Factor
Technologies like solar panels, wind turbines, and hydropower dams do not emit carbon into the atmosphere, but the process of building these structures do because these technologies are made of steel which is primarily created from the combination of iron and carbon which requires intense heat. These technologies get cheaper and cheaper every year.
